Job Summary Responsible for oversight and management of the portfolio of cross-functional projects supported by the Project Management Office (PMO). Effectively oversees Program Management Office in delivering programs on time and on budget, including resource allocation. Develops financial and operational objectives. May have department budget responsibilities. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results and typically manages one or more complex projects, full ownership of the portfolio, and serves as a coach and mentor to peers.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing large, cross-functional projects impacting multiple departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication at all levels from frontline to senior leaders

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Comcast experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet and OneNote preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and management to the PMO team.
  • Trains PMO staff on project management methodology and coaches project managers on project quality issues as needed.
  • Provides support for corporate budgeting and budget tracking.
  • Maintains knowledge of entire PMO portfolio: region impacts, milestones, risks, schedule, etc.
  • Responsible for the portfolio as a whole.
  • Ensures quality output for all items in the portfolio, develops reports, and reads out to senior leaders and teammates on portfolio health.
  • Develops and maintains performance metrics to make informed recommendations for strategic decision making.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in project management methodologies, agile practices, best practices and industry standards.
  • Serves as SME of the project management methodology and technology (Smartsheet).
  • Ensures accuracy of Smartsheet data across the portfolio and prepares reports.
  • May serve as the Director’s delegate in meetings representing the PMO.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
