About The Position

The Sr Manager, Operations drives the creation of quality and Lean initiatives to ensure their functional area meets and exceeds business plans. This role is responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience within Inbound and/or Outbound operations. Key responsibilities include identifying, designing, developing, implementing, and executing new and existing processes, policies, goals, and solutions to mitigate risks. The manager will also create schedules, communicate risks to stakeholders, define risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate appropriate engineering solutions. Maintaining metrics, reports, and process documentation to monitor and analyze delivery performance and key controls is also part of the role. A significant aspect of this position involves managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, building support and securing resources for projects and initiatives, and providing coaching and mentorship to ensure performance objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • One year of experience in direct management, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
  • One year of experience using lean process improvement, six sigma methodologies or related performance metrics or process improvements to increase efficiency within processes, forecasting, planning, optimization, and logistics.
  • One year of experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.
  • One year of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis to support business decision making and cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area to meet and exceed business plan.
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of Inbound and/or Outbound operations.
  • Identify, design, develop, implement and execute new and existing processes, policies, goals, and solutions to reduce potential risks.
  • Create schedules, identify and communicate risks to stakeholders, define risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Maintain metrics, reports, and process documentation to monitor and analyze delivery performance and key controls.
  • Manage and lead a team of Operations and Area Managers to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor the team to ensure performance objectives are met.
