Responsible for building, supporting, and managing the day to day and strategic operations of the document and integration services Team. The Senior Manager, IT, is accountable for leading a team of technology professionals and managing the systems and processes that enable efficient, highly available and accurate integrations and forms services. This role combines people leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight to ensure quality, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or equivalent work experience, including military experience
  • 10+ years application development, infrastructure, project delivery or IT governance experience
  • 5+ years Agile project delivery methods, DevOps, and test automation preferred
  • Viewed as a technology leader within your team, providing coaching and mentoring to team members
  • Strong knowledge of technologies, architectures, and methodologies relevant to the assigned business area.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a highly technical team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing systems that are critical to core business operations, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance.
  • Skilled in vendor management, including driving delivery quality, adherence to standards, and alignment with contractual and strategic goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to allocate resources effectively and set clear priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with sound judgment under pressure.
  • Skilled communicator able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Committed to continuous improvement in both team performance and technical processes.
  • Effective coach and mentor with a focus on professional growth and team development.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating attention to detail, adaptability, and strong time management.
  • Displays confidence and influence when engaging with senior leaders, peers, and technical contributors.

  • Insurance certifications or affiliation with industry group a plus
  • Insurance industry background preferred
  • Programming or coding experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to strategic and operational business goals as a member of the management team
  • Tracks project delivery status, provides budget update/information and informs management of any deviations which may impact the project outcome
  • Manage relationships and performance of key strategic vendors and partners, ensuring delivery quality, contract adherence, and alignment with organizational priorities
  • Drives the team on adhering to technical architecture, design and stability of the systems and services supporting the company's insurance forms and document processes.
  • Involved with recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all managed staff in accordance with corporate budgetary and policy requirements, including offshore resources
  • Plans and conducts performance appraisals for employees, and administer disciplinary action
  • Initiates discussions around raises, bonuses, and promotions within team
  • Defines team operating standards and ensures essential procedures are followed at all times
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors employees on the team
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting key metrics and status updates to senior management
  • Occasionally required to work late evening and weekends as needed.
  • Up to 10% travel as needed.
