The Sr. Infra Systems Ops Manager is responsible for overseeing the 24x7 operations of the KaGA Integrated Data Center, including co-location environments and managed hosting services. This role manages the physical infrastructure supporting IS applications and services, ensuring operational excellence, reliability, and security across all datacenter functions. The IDC Manager will collaborate closely with Customer Service Managers, MES Managers, and Security teams to ensure seamless service delivery, compliance, and adherence to datacenter best practices and governance standards. The Sr. Manager of Infrastructure Systems Operations leads the 24x7 operations of the KaGA Integrated Data Center, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of IT services across co-location and managed hosting environments. The role drives operational excellence, oversees a high-performing technical team, and collaborates closely with cross‑functional partners to support business continuity and strategic technology initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of directly related IT infrastructure or systems operations experience.
  • 5+ years of data center management experience with strong project management skills
  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience across Networks, Telephony, Security, and Windows/Linux client‑server environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to large groups.
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including virtualization platforms.
  • Experience managing data center operations, including cabling standards and best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCSE, or Security+ certification (Preferred).
  • Experience with enterprise‑scale co‑location or multi‑tenant datacenter environments.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, documentation, and testing cycles.
  • Background supporting automotive or large-scale manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing operations team responsible for delivering datacenter services.
  • Oversee staffing needs, including recruiting, training, and performance management for data center personnel.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational efficiency.
  • Manage operational budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation for IDC operations.
  • Promote process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
  • Manage and prioritize trouble tickets while coordinating change management activities and technician assignments.
  • Oversee co-location facility operations, including space planning, racking, cabling, asset documentation, and tenant coordination.
  • Maintain server patching, configuration standards, storage capacity planning, and backup/restore operations.
  • Ensure physical security, access controls, DR documentation, and bi-annual disaster recovery testing.
  • Monitor operational systems, dashboards, and alerts to maintain high uptime and service quality.
  • Oversee a large portfolio of datacenter-related projects, systems, and operational initiatives.
  • Coordinate project activities and updates with HAE, business units, and datacenter tenants.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly project review meetings to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal business disruption.
  • Ensure documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement throughout project lifecycles.
