Sr. Manager, Fulfillment
About The Position
The Sr. Manager, Fulfillment provides strategic and operational leadership for all fulfillment activities at the Obetz facility, including picking, packing, shipping, labor planning, and workflow optimization. This role oversees multiple fulfillment functions and leaders, ensuring operational execution aligns with enterprise service levels, financial targets, and customer expectations. The Sr. Manager is accountable for scaling operations during peak seasons while driving operational discipline, workforce engagement, and continuous improvement across the facility. This position partners closely with Assembly, Receiving, Inventory Control, Transportation, Systems, and HR to ensure efficient product flow and seamless execution across the broader operations network. The Sr. Manager translates enterprise strategy into operational execution while ensuring Obetz fulfillment operations are positioned to support long-term growth and increased capacity demands.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of operational leadership experience
- 8+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution operations
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers, supervisors, or multi-level teams
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale seasonal workforce scaling in high-volume environments
- Strong working knowledge of WMS, fulfillment systems, and operational technology
- Experience managing operational budgets and fulfillment performance metrics
- Proven ability to lead operational change and drive continuous improvement initiatives

- Exposure to automation, robotics, or fulfillment technology optimization initiatives
- Multi-site operations leadership experience

Responsibilities
- Lead all fulfillment operations including picking, packing, shipping, and outbound logistics execution
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer and wholesale orders across multiple brands and channels
- Drive adherence to service level agreements and on-time shipment performance
- Oversee WMS execution to ensure inventory accuracy, workflow efficiency, and operational stability
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions to increase throughput
- Develop operational strategies to support facility growth, peak readiness, and capacity expansion
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, and process optimization
- Evaluate opportunities for automation, technology enhancements, and workflow redesign
- Conduct post-peak reviews and implement improvements to strengthen operational performance
- Provide leadership oversight for Fulfillment Managers and Supervisors
- Build strong leadership pipelines through coaching, performance management, and succession planning
- Develop staffing strategies aligned to seasonal volume forecasts
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR to prepare for large-scale seasonal hiring ramps
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational discipline
- Own fulfillment KPIs including productivity, quality, accuracy, safety, and cost per unit
- Manage fulfillment labor budgets and monitor financial performance against operational targets
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure labor utilization and operational productivity align with site budget expectations
- Partner with Inventory Control to ensure accurate stock levels and replenishment processes
- Collaborate with Assembly and Receiving leadership to maintain smooth product flow through the facility
- Coordinate with Transportation teams to ensure efficient outbound shipment execution
- Align with site leadership and enterprise partners on forecasting, peak readiness, and operational planning
- Serve as escalation point for complex operational issues impacting fulfillment performance
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational policies
- Enforce GMP, SQF, and food safety compliance across fulfillment operations
- Maintain audit-ready operational conditions at all times
- Promote a proactive culture of safety and accountability
