About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Financial Planning & Forecasting will lead design and implementation of data-driven variance analyses of our business performance vs. Plan/Forecast/prior years to enable the business with key insights to drive corrective actions. They will own design, implementation and deployment of Financial Planning and Forecasting (EPM) systems, in collaboration with Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) Finance and Banfield Reporting teams. They will collaborate with Operational Finance and Strategy Finance team to lead design and execution of Financial Planning and Forecasting for the practice with the ultimate goal to deliver value-creation targets of our business: Annual Operating Plan preparation and assumption-based rolling Forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Eight years of Financial Planning & Analysis experience in a Retail, Healthcare, or multi-unit Consumer Goods business are required.
  • Financial Planning/Forecasting and Analysis experience in a complex multi-billion service organization is required.
  • Experience in Retail or Healthcare is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally and drive action with insights anchored in data is required.

Responsibilities

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Own periodic analyses of Business and Financial performance of the unit across all lines of P&L and NCFO, with focus on actionable insights and variance analyses against prior year. Plan/forecast to ensure the business stays on course to deliver the annual plan. This includes preparation of communication to internal Banfield stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and broader Finance team to define standard business analyses required for decision-making and its execution with digital/self-service and on-demand focus. This is in strong partnership with Controller and Operations Finance teams as well as Business teams.
  • Lead unit implementation and ongoing improvement of Corporate Financial Planning/Forecasting systems and technology, in close collaboration with MVH Finance.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration through periodic forecasting process, enabling transparent decision-making at the right level and agility in short to medium term performance management. This includes all areas of Total Banfield P&L and NCFO.
  • High exposure to Banfield Finance Leadership Team– period governance reviews/forecast and annual planning updates, requiring follow-through of agreed actions across various levels and functions of the organization.
  • Participation in other projects and activities across the business as needed.
