About The Position

Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management. Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company’s data, tools and information systems. Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility. Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics. Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • OR
  • 9+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
  • 4+ years in a leadership role in projects/programs.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in IT.

Responsibilities

  • Motivates direct team to accept change and adapt priorities in order to meet changing demands.
  • Collaborates with individuals inside own team and with other teams to complete project work.
  • Communicates performance expectations and monitors and evaluates performance of members of team to ensure plans are met.
  • Allocates workload (which includes key decisions, project management, and resource allocation) among team members by taking into consideration employee availability, skill set, and current workload when making assignments.
  • Develops, coaches, and mentors experienced and senior members of the team and provides development assignments.
  • Manages the performance of team members by meeting regularly with each member to discuss current and future state of key projects, identifies developmental opportunities, and evaluates performance based on key metrics.
  • Leads teams in the implementation of standardized tools, templates, and processes.
  • Identifies and promotes a unifying vision throughout the team with associated day-to-day goals and creates a climate in which people want to contribute.
  • Ensures skill and knowledge gaps are closed by acquiring targeted resources and/or providing development opportunities to existing resources, as appropriate.
  • Communicates plans, roadmaps, and directions within domain of expertise, verbally and in writing.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and prioritizes gaps and opportunities for process enhancements or efficiencies and evaluates existing IT resources to meet demands.
  • Encourages contributions made by individuals of varying backgrounds, locations, and cultures.
  • Leads a team in the development of requirements for process or system solutions, which may span multiple IT domains by leveraging partnerships with stakeholders and appropriate IT teams (e.g., Operations Support, Cryptography and Security, QA).
