Job Overview Macy’s Inc.’s Credit Portfolio is comprised of 18 million loyal credit card customers across both Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s nameplates. This business unit provides the supermajority of Operating Income for Macy's Inc. annually, and funds retail investment and growth, making it a critical driver of enterprise financial strength in 2026 and beyond. The Senior Manager, Credit Finance partners closely with the Credit Finance leadership team and is responsible for 1) accurately forecasting and reporting credit business financial results and 2) utilizing portfolio insights to shape high-priority strategic finance initiatives. These tactics are aimed at growing loyalty credit customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across both Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s. The ideal Senior Manager is curious, leverages a strong analytical foundation, possesses expertise in financial analysis, and maintains a customer-centric mindset – to make high-impact and lasting contributions at an iconic retail company.

Requirements

  • Financial Acumen: Strong expertise in financial analysis and modeling with precision
  • Analytical Expertise: Advanced quantitative skills with the ability to distill complex data into clear, decision‑ready insights, leveraging proficiency in tools like Excel, Tableau, and Power BI
  • Credit Portfolio Analysis: Understanding of credit concepts, products, and risk principles
  • Presentation Expertise: Proven experience translating complex data into compelling narratives for senior management
  • Communication: Exceptional skills in presenting insights and actionable recommendations to all levels of stakeholders
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to align credit and loyalty strategies with broader organizational objectives, influencing outcomes through insight and collaboration
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply
  • 8 plus years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Credit, Data Analytics or Loyalty, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze retail and credit card business results and develop dynamic financial models to accurately forecast On-Us and Off-Us credit sales and new loyalty credit customer acquisitions, across all Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s channels.
  • Accurately consolidate and contextualize Credit Portfolio performance for senior leadership during fiscal close – monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Partner with Credit Finance and Credit Risk teams to diagnose drivers of evolving loyalty credit customer transaction behavior.
  • Collaborate with Credit Marketing, Citibank, and American Express to design, execute, and measure credit business growth strategies that drive incremental profit for Macy’s Inc.
  • Leverage portfolio insights to identify hotspots, tradeoffs, and opportunities for strategic innovation – partnering closely with leadership across Stores, Digital, and Merchandising.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of current financial processes, providing recommendations for streamlining and simplification.
