About The Position

As Senior Manager, Cost Accounting at Centrus Energy , you’ll be the financial architect behind our government contracting operations. From navigating CAS and FAR requirements to guiding technical accounting decisions and leading audits with confidence, you’ll ensure our cost structure is rock-solid, compliant, and ready to support critical national missions. This is a high-impact role for a strategic accounting leader who enjoys solving complex puzzles, mentoring teams, and partnering across the business to drive smart financial outcomes. What You Will Do: You’ll lead all cost accounting activities tied to government contracts, ensuring compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), FAR, and U.S. GAAP while maintaining the highest levels of financial integrity. This includes overseeing indirect rate structures, cost allocations, and contract billings; providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions; supporting audits and government reviews; and partnering with finance, legal, and operations teams to inform contract negotiations and reporting. You’ll also mentor a high-performing accounting team and help modernize accounting processes through ERP enhancements and automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • CPA certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a government contracting environment
  • Deep knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Strong technical accounting expertise under U.S. GAAP
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle Fusion Cloud)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with DCAA audits and government cost proposals.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards.
  • Proven track record of process improvement and team leadership.
