About The Position

LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is a high-growth renewable energy company forging a sustainable future through integrity, innovation, and positive impact. We own and operate 30 large wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States, totaling over 3 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity. LRE has an ambitious goal of 10GW of operating assets by 2028 and are developing and contracting an increasing pipeline of new projects every year. Job Summary: The Senior Manager, Compliance is responsible for building and operating a practical, business‑enabling compliance function that turns legal and incentive complexity into a competitive advantage for a renewable energy platform. This role includes managing eligibility for critical tax incentives, supporting financings and transactions, and reducing execution risk and financing delays through clear protocols, training, and monitoring. Working closely with Legal, Finance, Procurement, HR, Tax, and Development teams, the Senior Manager ensures compliance requirements are embedded into everyday business processes. This role will report to the Chief Legal Officer and is designed for a hands‑on leader with strong operational judgment and cross-functional influence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, internal controls, or operational governance roles; experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building and/or operating compliance programs that support complex, multi ‑stakeholder business activities.
  • Understanding of compliance issues related to tax incentives, supplier and contractor oversight, and project or corporate financing processes.
  • Ability to translate regulatory or incentive requirements into clear, executable business protocols and training materials.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple business units.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and comfort handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive adoption of new processes.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, including experience developing metrics and management reporting.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment with evolving requirements and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate a risk ‑based compliance framework that supports renewable energy development, construction, financing, and operations activities.
  • Develop and maintain compliance protocols related to tax incentive eligibility (including prevailing wage, domestic content and FEOC requirements), supplier engagement, and project execution.
  • Define and maintain Supplier Code of Conduct requirements, ensure alignment with regulatory and contractual obligations, and partner with responsible teams to support timely implementation and adherence.
  • Partner with Finance and Project teams to support project ‑level and corporate financing compliance, including readiness for lender, investor, and auditor diligence.
  • Manage corporate compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are practical, current, and aligned with business operations.
  • Design and deliver company ‑wide and role ‑based compliance training; manage training rollout, completion tracking, and refresher cycles.
  • Embed compliance controls into existing workflows such as procurement, contract management, and employee onboarding.
  • Prepare clear metrics and summaries for senior leadership to demonstrate compliance posture, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner by providing timely, practical guidance on compliance expectations during transactions, procurements, and project milestones.
