About The Position

Provides global leadership, vision, and strategic direction in managing the financial performance of the business areas comprising Therapeutic Systems and Cell Therapy Processing. Success in this role relies upon a high degree of partnering within the Global Business Area Management teams to ensure objectives of both Commercial and Corporate Finance are achieved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience, preferably in the FP&A function of a medium to large company.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, business case preparation and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting toward achievement of annual, long-term, and strategic business plans and goals.
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to identify, define, and solve problems rapidly, and the ability to think and plan both critically and strategically.
  • Strong financial system and data management/analytics skills .
  • Demonstrated effective ability to lead people and projects.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and / or U.S. GAAP accounting requirements and internal control practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with Executive Level Management.
  • Strong level of self-confidence and conviction that ensures the compliance, governance and other valued business practice requirements of the organization will be effectively represented
  • Ability to balance area-specific business partnering skills with the requirements of company governance elements.
  • Aptitude to work with multiple business areas with overall annual revenues of >1B$.
  • Strong teamplayer, able to work independently but also to manage a team of FP&A Managers – Commercial.
  • Applying LEAN and show natural drive to constantly seek and suggest process improvements

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree such as an MBA preferred.
  • Previous management experience in the financial area preferred.
  • Exposure to international business and non-US operations is a plus.
  • Experience with dual reporting structure desired.
  • Certification, such as a CMA, CPA or other professional financial certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Active member of Global business area management team(s) – team-up, debate, suggest, share opion, drive consensus in periodic management meetings.
  • Responsible for developing financial analyses, reporting tools and customer solutions needed to support and achieve global and regional financial performance objectives.
  • Maintains periodic financial KPI’s reporting and dashboards of the business area(‘s) including reconciliation towards Plan/Forecast – highlighting trends, value drivers, red flags, comments and suggestions that are relevant to keep business area(s) on track of annual and strategic objectives.
  • Report out or present on current business area(‘s) performance, identify key issues shaping the financial performance of the business and communicate clearly and effectively to business area leaders to ensure the right level of visibility and focus is achieved.
  • Responsible for high degree of business case modeling.
  • Keep business cases up to date – includes lookback analysis – feed learnings to management – drive accuracy in financial projections of business cases. Challenge business area(‘s) teams to find the right balance in financial projections.
  • Provides comments look back and look forward for the monthly performance analysis report (PAR) applicable to the business area which they support.
  • Captures Financial Part of annual Strategic Plan of the business area(’s).
  • Supports the Annual plan process (share assumptions, seek alignment between business area and regional commercial organization). Lead business area SG&A plan development.
  • Works with appropriate teams to monitor, evaluate, and improve value proposition for products, revenue growth in all markets, manufacturing cost of product, SG&A and R&D spend, working capital management, and capital expenditures.
  • Partner with various Finance functions – especially with Financial Systems team in development of new reports and to ensure data integrity and Corporate Finance in financial assessment of business opportunities (cases).
  • Monitors and reports on the financial performance of competitors; develops an understanding of financial issues as experienced by customers, and develops relationships with select customer CFOs.
  • Active member to Global Initiatives and workgroups (ex. Global projects, Critical Commitments workstreams)
  • Ensures compliance with all corporate approval, processing, legal, reporting and internal control requirements.
  • Supports the alignment of BW Sales, BPC and/or Adpative reporting tool, SalesForce and SAP.
  • Reviews and provides key input for periodic sales forecasting
