Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8+ years of machine shop or related experience
  • Computer competency
  • Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software
  • Advanced machining principles
  • Project Management
  • Problem-solving methodologies
  • Move or lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent (>75%) stationary position (standing or sitting) while utilizing digital displays
  • Frequent (>75% fine manipulation using hands and fingers (typing, opening, writing, clicking, paper sorting, etc.)
  • Onsite: Office environment with assigned workstation
  • Remote positions only: Home office environment with minimum distractions

Responsibilities

  • Setup, operates, and repairs manual, automatic, and computer-numeric controlled (CNC) machine tools
  • Interprets prints, manuals, and other technical documentation in order to perform production tasks
  • Troubleshoots machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Measures, examines, and tests completed parts
  • Measures and performs inspection on parts to verify accuracy
  • Trains on machining by studying work orders, prints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, and machining parameters while interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Trains on mills and lathes by installing and adjusting work holding equipment
  • Measures and performs inspection on parts to verify accurate CNC programs
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, prints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, and machining parameters while interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting work holding equipment
  • Measures and performs inspection on parts to verify accurate CNC programs
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, prints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, and machining parameters while interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting work holding equipment
  • Develops CNC programs for part and component manufacturing
  • Troubleshoots CNC programs, machine malfunctions and error messages
  • Programs control instructions and dimensions into machine control units to start operation
  • May mentor less-experienced team members
  • Provides the Company with recommendations and acts as subject matter expert in assigned process and systems
  • Other duties as assigned
