Job Summary: We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position involves working with legacy manual machines to produce precision components. A strong foundation in blueprint reading, measurement techniques, and machining principles is essential. Candidates must be prepared to demonstrate competency through a pre-employment skill assessment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
  • Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve processes and product quality.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Adapt to legacy equipment with minimal automation; troubleshoot using hands-on diagnostic skills.
  • Modify and adjust machine settings manually to maintain output quality and precision.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, scales, and surface plates—with emphasis on calibration and accuracy
  • Apply mathematical concepts including trigonometric functions and angle calculations to machine setup and part production
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to pass a machining competency test.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
