About The Position

Responsible for underwriting and decisioning consumer and indirect loan applications while developing and maintaining strong relationships with Dealer Partners. This position is a hybrid position balancing credit risk management and dealer relationship development. This role will serve as a key liaison between Dealer Partner, members and internal lending teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in loan underwriting or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of loan procedures, policies, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on available information.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with members and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and maintaining records.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years Financial Institution experience including 3 years of loan decisioning.
  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards and required loan documentation.
  • Knowledge of Consumer and Indirect lending practices.
  • Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively cross-sell/up-sell products and services.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications, and other business equipment including calculators, printer, and telephone.
  • Flexibility with schedule to include holidays/weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of member service representative experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate consumer and indirect loan applications submitted via direct and indirect channels.
  • Analyze credit reports, ratios, income, collateral, bankruptcy indicators and other risk factors.
  • Render decisions to approve, counter, or decline applications within the delegated lending authority and in accordance with FFCU lending policies.
  • Respond promptly and positively to inquiries from members, Dealer Partners, and Management.
  • Keep the Manager informed of significant issues or concerns.
  • Mentor and support other employees in understanding and executing the loan application process.
  • Develop and maintain productive business relationships with Dealer Partners.
  • Serve as primary liaison between Dealer Partners and FFCU’s Indirect Lending department to facilitate efficient loan decision and funding.
  • Evaluate loan applications submitted by dealers and make decisions within the parameters of loan policy.
  • Conduct regular dealer visits and attend auto sales or promotional events as required to support dealer engagement.
  • Perform basic services such as notary services, batching, and mailing denial letters.
  • Address and resolve problems by understanding issues, identifying potential solutions, and provide follow-up to ensure resolution.
  • Assist in other areas of lending such as Financial Assistance and Mortgages.
  • Assist with Internal Audit loan exception findings.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks such as filing, scanning, and answering telephones.
  • Attend meetings and actively participate in loan functions and promotions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
