PJM Interconnection sits at the heart of the nation's energy transformation. As electricity demand surges, PJM's transmission system is undergoing major upgrades to remain reliable and resilient. The grid is also adapting to a rapidly changing generation mix, with more renewable energy sources and evolving federal and state policies reshaping how electricity is produced and delivered. These changes bring novel engineering challenges and opportunities to innovate, making this one of the most exciting times to join PJM. The Transmission Service Department (TSD) performs power flow analysis to determine transfer capability between PJM and neighboring systems and then facilitates the utilization of that capability to support interchange scheduling between PJM and those neighbors. Our work is essential to ensuring reliable operations across a complex and ever-changing grid. Why Join Us? Join a collaborative, high performing team working on novel power systems engineering challenges. You'll play a vital role in integrating renewable and traditional generation, large data centers, determining transfer capability and facilitating interchange with neighboring regions - directly supporting the reliability and flexibility of the grid as it evolves. You will also support the processes, applications and industry efforts associated with Open Access. If you enjoy solving complex problems and want to make a real impact on the future of energy, PJM is the place for you. While there are overlapping responsibilities, the Transmission Service Engineer will focus more on the power flow analysis and determination of transfer capability. The Transmission Service Specialist will focus primarily on the facilitation and coordination of tools, projects and industry efforts.
