We are looking for a Sr. Labor Relations Partner to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana! The Sr. Labor Relations Partner will report to the Sr. Human Resources and Labor Relations Manager and is responsible for ensuring effective administration and compliance of Employment & Labor Law, Industrial Relations, Investigations, and other workplace policies. This person will have day-to-day contact with front-line supervision in the daily implementation of the labor contract for approximately 750 unionized employees. What’s in it for you! What you will work on: The principal responsibility of this position is to establish and maintain a labor relations climate that is conducive to fostering positive relations with the local United Steelworks (USW) leadership and members. Your approach will support our partnership philosophy striving for win-win solutions to issues, and constructive change management consistent with the Kaiser Warrick business plan. Refine and execute the Warrick Labor Relations strategy in partnership with local and corporate leadership. Administer, interpret, and apply the labor agreement. Identify, initiate, and negotiate/communicate work practice changes consistent with the Kaiser Warrick business plan. Recognize and identify potential labor relations problems and recommend acceptable methods to avoid or resolve such problems. Counsel and advise all levels of management concerning potential and/or current employee/labor relations issues. Administer local labor agreement. Assist in investigation, interpretation, and resolution of the grievance procedure, including preparation and presentation of grievances at arbitration. About you: Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent experience and education. Minimum 5 years Labor Relations experience, preferably in a union manufacturing setting. Experience in contract administration and grievance resolution. Demonstrated working knowledge of federal, state and local employment/labor laws and regulations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Highly competent in building relationships. Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization. Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Minimum 5 years Labor Relations experience, preferably in a union manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in contract administration and grievance resolution.
