This role, DESIGNER, PRIN, involves completing highly-technical, difficult, and complex design assignments within one discipline, generally utilizing either 2D or 3D CAD methods. The position ensures consistency and quality in deliverables, driving innovation in CAD processes, and requires working independently to complete the most demanding design assignments. This position is part of Parsons' Critical Infrastructure team, which designs and delivers critical infrastructure globally, focusing on projects that improve communities, promote economic growth, enhance mobility, and increase sustainability and resiliency.

Requirements

Advanced computer skills
Proficiency utilizing CAD
Advanced knowledge and experience with computer software used in design assignments
Advanced technical skills
10+ years related experience
experience in a lead role

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree 2-year technical degree (or equivalent) is preferred
related certification of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course, preferred

Responsibilities

Completes the most complex and difficult designs and layouts for complete systems and components of a project.
Assignments involve design elements for which there may be no clearly established precedents and require anticipation of problems at the outset in order to provide appropriate solutions.
Performs front-end layout and design of complex systems and equipment applicable to the respective discipline.
Ensures compliance with required specifications, tolerances, safety factors, and client requirements.
Performs specialized design computations and analysis within a given discipline.
Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design.
Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods.
May assist in the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.
Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
Checks orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
May provide direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced.
Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of design.
Assists in training lower-level Designers in various procedures.
May prepare manpower estimates, as required.
May serve as Lead CAD Designer on a small to medium-sized project, ensuring compliance with industry codes, as well as project and company standards.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
