The Senior IT Systems Engineer position requires an enthusiastic, dependable, and reliable individual who has previous Systems engineering experience (3 year min.). Customer focused, the successful individual must be polite, approachable, and able to keep calm under pressure in addition to being willing to learn new technology skills. The ideal candidate must be flexible, with a positive, can-do, make-it-happen attitude. The candidate must also work well within a geographically dispersed team. Technology used at Electro Rent includes Azure, Office 365, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows servers, VMware infrastructure, Hosted servers and applications (Salesforce.com, Dynamics 365, and bespoke), SD-WAN Architecture, Network Security/Firewalls, Switching, WLAN and SQL Servers. Electro Rent Corporation runs several IT Systems across multiple platforms serving a worldwide user base 24/7/365. This role will support users and systems, primarily focused on supporting the Global and U.S. Support Desks. Travel to any of our global offices may be required though seldom.

  • Supports the planning, configuration, and operation of our Microsoft infrastructure migration and services.
  • Works to configure and support workloads virtual and in the cloud, automates cloud infrastructure maintenance, and builds new operational monitoring capabilities.
  • Requires working knowledge of Microsoft technology stack and SQL Server database, including but not limited to high availability, disaster recovery, security, compliance, performance consideration, and cost management.
  • Provides troubleshooting support and identifies root causes for issues escalated by the NOC team.
  • Develops and maintains tutorials and training resources.
  • Ability to provide both detailed information as well as summaries to management and IT groups.
  • VMware Experience in deploying the following: Microsoft server, Active Directory, Power Shell, Azure, network and storage.
  • Familiar with Azure data analytics platform deployment such as deploying infrastructure for Azure Data Bricks, Azure Data Lakes and Data Factories.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, in accordance with business needs and organizational goals.
  • BS degree computer science, computer information systems, or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of IT implementation experience
  • 3 years or more of hands-on experience with using, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure connecting to Azure Public Cloud Provider, including a deep understanding of and experience with: Microsoft AD, Server, VMware, Cloud Infrastructure (VPCs, subnets, security groups, route tables, internet gateways, NACLs); authentication policies, DNS, cloud storage and domain management
  • Full-stack knowledge of IT infrastructure (applications, databases, operating systems, hypervisors, IP networks, storage networks, cloud platforms, backup networks and media
  • Experience with Azure Stack
  • Knowledge in integrating Azure with on-prem services like AD, DNS, Firewalls, and load balancers with proper integration patterns and architectures
  • Experience with Microsoft Server and Cloud Infrastructure Security, Zero Trust, IAM, Networking, Data Security and leveraging the right solutions in these areas is required
  • Experience with API integration, automation, configuration management, monitoring, ensuring security and compliance are thorough in all cloud services implementation
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, DevOps model and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) processes and to support CI/CD initiatives is required
  • Experience in working with industry regulations, standards, and frameworks like NIST, PCI, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR
  • MCSE, Azure Administrator and other Azure certifications preferred
