About The Position

Job Summary: If you’re the person everyone calls when technology misbehaves—and you actually enjoy solving the puzzle—this role is for you. As a Sr. IT Support Specialist at Centrus Energy, you’ll be a trusted technical expert supporting desktops, servers, and enterprise systems in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. You’ll keep users productive, systems secure, and technology running smoothly while partnering with IT leadership on planning, upgrades, and site initiatives. This is hands-on support work with strategic impact. What You Will Do: Install, upgrade, and maintain workstation and server software/hardware, including OS deployment and testing of business productivity applications. Perform day-to-day IT maintenance, including managing Active Directory user accounts, passwords, and shared network folders. Analyze workstation usage and performance to maintain hardware lifecycles and assist IT management in planning for capacity growth. Ensure all support requests are tracked and resolved in accordance with established severity levels and IT Help Desk policies. Lead site-level desktop deployment projects and participate in enterprise-wide IT initiatives as a senior technical resource. Maintain desktop and server software and hardware inventories. Also maintains related documentation, guides and technical information. Maintain company cell phones, loaner laptop pool, which includes configuring and troubleshooting all assigned models. Create, print and manage site access badges and site smart cards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, plus 4+ years of desktop and or server support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in implementation, maintenance, and support of desktop and server hardware and software.
  • Strong working knowledge of operating systems, hardware platforms, standards, and protocols.
  • Strong communication, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in structured IT support environments following defined policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of industry-standard certifications such as A+, Network+, and Security+.
  • Proven experience managing Microsoft Active Directory, M365 environments, and Windows workstations at scale.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Intune and the ability to develop/test automated software deployment packages (e.g., SCCM).
  • Proven ability to conduct research into complex software issues and execute tasks effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong grasp of infrastructure architectural concepts and IT best practices (ITIL) to align support with organizational goals.
