JOB SUMMARY Responsible for supporting the relationship between Textron Information Systems (TIS), TFC IT, and the various TFC departments. Activities include support for various TFC applications, ensuring delivery and on-going support of IT solutions, and enabling key finance business processes. The IT Business Analyst will support the business through analysis and design, trouble-shooting system issues, documenting business requirements and technical specifications, identifying technology solutions, performing system testing, and providing configuration and end-user support of applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related technical field
  • Basic understanding of business analysis and project management procedures required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, IT experience preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Software Development/Configuration Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of System and User Acceptance software testing
  • Demonstrated ability working with enterprise software applications, such as financial and leasing systems and services
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues
  • High level understanding of accounting and leasing concepts
  • Basic understanding of project management procedures
  • Experience working on management reporting
  • Knowledge of databases, such as Oracle; MS SQL Server or MySQL
  • Knowledge of operating systems, such as UNIX; Linux; Windows
  • Knowledge of SQL for querying and testing
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools, such as SSIS, PowerBI, Crystal Reporting and Business Objects

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of enterprise content management systems, such as Filebound, is preferred
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages (MS.Net; JAVA Script, HTML, C# and Visual Basic) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the TFC business unit by gathering business requirements, proposing solutions, drafting technical specifications, providing configuration, user testing, and end-user support of TFC applications, reports, and queries.
  • Lead and participate in issue resolution activities and function as the coordinator for internal team, third party providers, cross-functional and supplier-partner resources.
  • Develop and modify analytics dashboards to allow the business to analyze both financial and portfolio data.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT system investments, troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis.
  • Provide end-user assistance, training, and support documentation for TFC systems and interfaces.
  • Demonstrate business partnering skills to effectively establish solid business connections.
  • Contribute to the installation of upgrades, patches, new modules and/or configuration changes to infrastructure and software.
  • Apply good, solid understanding of hardware/software development methodologies on projects.
  • Understand the sensitive nature of financial information and critical time periods for reporting.
  • Adhere to IT policies and procedures and controls, including the compilation of evidence of testing for internal controls.
  • Research and provide technical solutions to a wide range of TFC business needs, including process improvement and using both existing and new technology for solutions.
  • Report status of projects regularly to the TFC and TIS management teams.
  • Work with TFC process owners and TIS to prioritize requests and set timelines.
  • Deliver work on-time and to process owner specifications following defined standards, conventions, and controls.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validations to eliminate issues before work product is given to the customer.
  • Take on responsibility of existing/new TFC systems and provide applications and infrastructure support as needed.
  • Take on project management in support of TFC IT initiatives as needed.
  • Initiative-taker who can work in a team environment as well as work independently with minimal direction.
