This is an office-based position and for the effective performance of this role, the duties and responsibilities must be carried out onsite. Senior Investment Associate Join our Portfolio Advisory team serving ultra-high-net-worth clients. As a Senior Investment Associate, you’ll play a key role in delivering proactive, high-touch investment support and client service. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with a strong foundation in investments and a collaborative mindset.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of financial markets, investment products, and portfolio construction.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to simplify complex concepts.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charting).
  • 3+ years in financial services or relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field is preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Preference towards candidates pursuing a CFA, CFP, or other professional designation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely and accurate portfolio reviews and market outlook materials.
  • Communicate directly with clients and internal partners on behalf of Portfolio Advisors.
  • Develop expertise in Northern Trust’s investment philosophy, platform, and tools—including Goals Driven Wealth Management.
  • Support investment planning and modeling; provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Monitor market trends and share relevant insights with advisors.
  • Manage compliance-related tasks and follow-ups.
  • Contribute to special projects and team initiatives.
