Requirements

  • Superior writing ability and interest in Japanese public policy
  • Strong PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Strong curiosity in relevant subject matters and drive to learn and succeed
  • A positive, constructive attitude and determination to follow through
  • Bachelor's Degree International studies, finance, or a related discipline
  • Five years of professional job-related work experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Japanese, JLPT N1 or equivalent preferred
  • Master's Degree International studies, finance or a related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Produces high-quality, easy-to-read analytical reports and analysis of public policy issues on tight deadlines
  • Covers and analyzes international policy events in Washington, D.C.
  • Covers and analyzes meetings internationally (with Japan as well as Asia, Europe, etc.), including at times early morning or evening meetings
  • Provides staff support for the VP, including management of a number of projects, meeting/event planning, and extending staff support to the Company’ senior executives
  • Conducts Japanese-language research, including news gathering and monitoring of international developments
  • Translates documents from Japanese to English
  • In principle, works in office 4 days a week
  • Provides bilingual support for communication and liaison support
  • Performs other duties as required
