About The Position

Provides leadership of installation site quality for aircraft modification programs, ensuring full compliance with contractual, regulatory (Part 145), and Safety Management System requirements. Drives disciplined execution of the Quality Management System while upholding VVIP “fit and finish” standards. Develops and leads a high-performing team that proactively manages risk, strengthens customer confidence, and delivers measurable, sustainable improvements aligned with program and business objectives.

Requirements

  • FAA Part 65 Airframe and Powerplant license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of seven years of related experience or equivalent combination of education.
  • Experience in an AS9100 certified installation and modification environment required.
  • Aircraft industry experience desirable.
  • US Citizen Required - this position is located at a facility that requires special access .
  • Experience with Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Expedite resource planning; Inventory and order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Experience and familiarity with all FAA MIDO, FSDO and ACO procedures and processes
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with the procurement of raw materials/parts/commodities related to VIP aircraft interiors.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. without assistance/able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and Coordinates on-site Quality Management leading up to and during the Completion Process.
  • Ensures that Quality management processes are adhered to including FAA regulations, Greenpoint onsite Quality Management requirements and AS9100.
  • Able to hold the delegation of Chief Inspector for the Part 145 Repair Station Certificate and perform the duties as listed in the Repair Station Manual
  • Coordinates and communicates with the on-site Installation Managers and supports them with status suitable for their reporting to the Program Management organization
  • Oversees the Installation Conformity Process coordinating the Designated Inspector / ODA Unit Member and Certification.
  • Oversees Installation Site FOD compliance to local and FAA regulations.
  • Coordinates parts and installation conformity process when required.
  • Oversees continual monitoring of protection procedures for product arriving at or being handled at the mod site.
  • Manages inspection team to meet schedule requirements for incoming maintenance inspections and modification inspection requirements.
  • Works with the Director, Installation Quality to ensure budget and on-time delivery goals are achieved at the Modification (Mod) Center.
  • Confers with internal and customer (Mod Center) quality control, material, production, and other department personnel to provide technical support.
  • Facilitate a positive relationship with customers and vendors.
  • Conducts tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate equipment performance and functionality.
