As an Sr. Information Systems Security Officer I (ISSO), you’ll execute cybersecurity controls and continuous monitoring activities supporting mission-critical DoD and Intelligence Community systems, with the goal of making an impact across the federal government. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including specialized experience supporting DoD and Intelligence Community environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field is strongly preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Possess DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 722 Information Systems Security Manager work role (as listed for this billet), such as Security+ (or GSEC), SSCP, CAP, CASP+, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CISSP-ISSMP, or GSLC.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), including defining, implementing, and maintaining security requirements for programs, systems, or enclaves.
  • Experience supporting system authorization and compliance activities, including control implementation, assessment preparation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Operational experience coordinating with system owners, engineers, ISSMs, and government stakeholders to maintain security posture and compliance.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
  • Required technical certifications include Security+ and CAP or SSCP.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain security controls across assigned systems and enclaves
  • Support RMF documentation, assessments, and continuous monitoring activities, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and control artifacts
  • Coordinate with the Information Systems Security Manager, Government security personnel, and technical teams to ensure compliance with security requirements
  • Track POA&Ms, remediation actions, and security findings through closure
  • Support ATO maintenance, audits, inspections, and security reporting activities
  • Integrate security requirements into Agile and DevSecOps workflows
  • Identify, document, and escalate cybersecurity risks proactively
  • Communicate system security status, risks, and remediation progress clearly to leadership
