As a Sr. Information Systems Security Engineer II , you’ll embed security into system design, development, and implementation for mission-critical systems with the goal to make an impact across the federal government. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and evaluating information system security controls across the system development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field is strongly preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Possess DoD 8140 certification aligned to an Information Systems Security Engineer or Developer work role, such as Security+, SSCP, CAP, CASP+, CCSP, CISSP, or CISSP-ISSEP.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and enforcing security policies, conducting risk assessments, and integrating security requirements into system designs.
  • Hands-on experience applying compliance and security frameworks, including NIST standards, ISO 27001, and the Risk Management Framework.
  • Proven ability to review, redesign, and reconfigure solutions to optimize security controls and system performance.
  • Hands-on experience drafting and revising security plans, including system configurations, threat assessments, and incident response inputs.
  • Operational experience supporting system authorization activities, security assessments, and continuous monitoring.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
  • Required technical certifications include CASP+ or CISSP.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evaluate security architectures and control implementations across assigned systems
  • Integrate security requirements into system design, development, testing, and sustainment activities
  • Conduct risk assessments, threat analysis, and security design reviews
  • Support RMF activities, including control selection, implementation guidance, and security documentation
  • Collaborate with engineers, Information Systems Security Officers, and Information Systems Security Managers to identify and resolve security gaps
  • Advise on secure design patterns, engineering best practices, and defense-in-depth strategies
  • Support authorization activities and continuous monitoring efforts through technical security expertise
  • Communicate technical security risks, recommendations, and design considerations clearly to stakeholders
