About The Position

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) will be responsible for performing and reviewing technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards. This role involves validating system security requirements, establishing security designs, and integrating IA into systems deployed to operational environments. The ISSE will support the building of security architectures, enforces trusted relations among external systems, and assesses security threats throughout the program life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • 14+ years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional ISSE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • CISSP Certification is required.
  • DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IASAE Level 2 is required.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
  • Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Security Engineering Leadership: Participate as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
  • System Design: Perform system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves, specifically including those with differing data protection or classification requirements.
  • Policy Application: Apply knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design and implement secure environments.
  • Risk Management: Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management activities.
  • Compliance & Enforcement: Support the Government in enforcing the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  • Requirements Identification: Identify overall security requirements to ensure the proper handling of Government data.
  • Collaboration: Interact effectively with customers and other project team members.
  • Documentation Review: Review certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation, providing feedback on completeness and compliance with NSA/CSS Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
