About The Position

As a Senior Operations Technician with OMES, you will support the Capital Assets Management Department and the Facilities Energy/Operations Supervisor in maintaining the department’s energy goals. This position provides first response on work orders assigned to the Energy/Operations group and is the primary point of contact with our tenants when responding to assigned work orders. You will work with building automation systems, monitor, test, and repair HVAC and automation systems, promote energy conservation, and perform preventative maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Four years of field experience in repairing and maintenance on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and/or experience in Plumbing.
• Related training and college education courses will be considered in lieu of field experience.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Energy/Operations Supervisor to maintain and improve the building automation systems.
• Monitors, tests, and repairs the building HVAC and automation systems and components to ensure proper operation.
• Promote energy conservation in our facilities.
• Involve all personnel in taking ownership for success of the program
• Respond to work orders assigned to the Energy/Operation group
• Initiate required repairs associated with the building automation systems and HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and associated mechanical systems
• Assist the Energy Supervisor in developing procedures to consistently test and maintain critical components in the building automation system(s)
• Monitor building automation systems with a proactive approach to resolving system issues.
• Maintain repair/replacement part stock and ensure critical components are always on-hand
• Assist the Energy Supervisor with tasks requiring field assistance or system monitoring
• On-call after hours and weekend monitoring of state facilities is required on a rotating basis.
• Emergency on-site responses are sometimes required.
• Other duties as assigned.
