About The Position

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Payroll HRIS Analyst (Workday) to join our payroll team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and maintaining our Workday payroll system to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This role combines advanced technical expertise in the Workday platform, including a strong command of general ledger mapping rules, with the communication skills necessary to collaborate effectively with Accounting and Finance stakeholders. The analyst serves as the bridge between Payroll Operations and Accounting, partnering with HR and IT to ensure end-to-end payroll data integrity. Requirements

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bring 5+ years of experience configuring and supporting Workday Payroll.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations (tax calculations, earnings/deductions, and compliance), including integration points with absence/time tracking and compensation.
  • Have working knowledge of federal wage and hour laws (FLSA) and multi-state compliance requirements.
  • Have experience building Workday payroll reports from results data.
  • Apply advanced Excel skills and reporting/analysis tools to validate payroll results and support audits.
  • Communicate effectively and solve problems, including translating technical concepts for non-technical users with a customer service mindset.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Support data governance, system optimization, and change management in an HRIS/payroll environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold data security practices.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Payroll, Accounting/Finance, and HR to gather and translate requirements for earnings, deductions, taxes, general ledger, and compliance.
  • Configure and maintain Workday Payroll (earnings/deductions, tax setup, payroll calendars, and GL mapping) to meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and execute testing (test payrolls, validation, and troubleshooting) to ensure accurate results and compliant processing.
  • Manage deployments and complex configuration changes, including business process updates, to support operational needs and legal/regulatory changes.
  • Document configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain an auditable record of system setup and changes.
  • Provide training and day-to-day support to payroll administrators and end users to ensure effective system adoption and issue resolution.
  • Monitor Workday Payroll releases and enhancements, assess impacts, and coordinate updates with Payroll, HRIS, and IT.
  • Create and maintain standard and ad hoc payroll reports, dashboards, and metrics in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Own payroll data governance and data integrity across Workday and downstream systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process and system optimizations that improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
