Your role at Baxter The Senior Human Resources Specialist serves as a strategic partner to leaders and employees, driving people solutions that enable business performance. This role provides expert support in labor relations, employee relations, compliance with Puerto Rico labor law, performance management, and HR analytics. This role combines strong business acumen with practical HR execution and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.D.) in Business Administration with a major in Human Resources, Labor Relations.
  • Eight or more years of previous experience in Human Resources field (manufacturing and/or pharma preferred).
  • Knowledge in Local and Federal Laws and Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, internal and external auditors.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish languages.
  • Ability to communicate, read, write and understand English/Spanish languages.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as trusted advisor to managers on employee relations matters.
  • Lead and support disciplinary processes ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Partner with leadership to proactively address employee concerns and reduce risk.
  • Ensure compliance with Puerto Rico employment legislation and company policies.
  • Provide guidance on terminations, corrective actions, leave administration, and workplace policies.
  • Partner with Legal team when needed while maintaining strong HR ownership of cases.
  • Monitor and analyze HR KPIs such as turnover, absenteeism, disciplinary trends, and engagement indicators.
  • Translate data into actionable insights for leadership.
  • Support performance review cycles and calibration processes.
  • Coach leaders on performance conversations and development planning.
  • Identify organizational trends and talent risks.
  • Support change management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with COEs (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Learning & Development).
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
  • Conducts job analysis to determine appropriate salary level according to corporate compensation guidelines and policy formulated by human resources.
  • Advises management on compensation actions for employees.
  • Makes recommendations to adjust salary structure in response to changing organizational needs and market values.
  • Perform budgetary control on the accounts of the area.
  • Will have other duties assigned such as providing Administrative Support to the HR Department.
