About The Position

The Senior Human Resources Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for all aspects of HR, balancing day-to-day support on the floor with strategic initiatives that drive organizational growth, workforce stability, and a strong, values-driven culture. This role also leads employee safety programs, including workers’ compensation, and partners closely with Operations to maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment. The ideal candidate is both operationally strong and comfortable being visible on the floor, with the ability to build trust and influence leaders at all levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • 7 years of progressive HR experience, including team leadership and support of both front-line and senior leaders
  • Experience in manufacturing or a similar operational environment required
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices
  • Proven ability to build credibility and influence leaders and employees at all levels
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to pivot and lead in a positive manner within a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support all shifts
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business goals and day-to-day operational needs
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs; ensure consistent application and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (with strong emphasis on California law)
  • Oversee daily HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, staffing, and safety
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees; provide practical, timely guidance on workplace matters
  • Manage, coach, and develop the HR team, ensuring strong support to the business and ongoing professional growth
  • In partnership with Operations, design, implement, and maintain OSHA-compliant safety programs that reduce incidents and reinforce safe behavior
  • Own and oversee workers’ compensation programs, including claims management and return-to-work processes
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles; partner with leadership on workforce planning and hiring strategies
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity
  • Partner with leadership to enhance total rewards offerings and the overall employee value proposition
  • Manage and optimize the HRIS (Paycor), ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and system utilization
  • Build and maintain HR reporting and dashboards; analyze key metrics (turnover, absenteeism, engagement, etc.) and use insights to drive decision-making and improvements
  • Lead investigations and resolve employee relations issues in a fair, consistent, and timely manner
  • Develop and implement employee engagement and retention strategies that support a stable, high-performing workforce
  • Develop and maintain a consistent and practical performance management program across the organization
  • Lead leadership development, coaching, and training initiatives; support succession planning and talent development efforts
  • Support change management initiatives and identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness
