About The Position

Our NTN Americas Region is comprised of 18 facilities with 5,000 employees, predominantly located in Indiana and Illinois. Our joint venture, NTK Precision Axle, located in Frankfort, Indiana is searching for a Sr. HR Generalist to join our team. This individual will report to the Human Resources & EHS Leader and be responsible for the following duties to contribute to achieving company performance goals:

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in training, education, organizational development or similar discipline or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting of at least 100+ employees across multiple shifts ( this is a first/day shift position with limited requirements to perform HR Generalist duties on off shifts ).
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software: Advanced Microsoft Office and ADP HRIS Workforce Now is preferred but not required (or other similar HRIS/Payroll Systems experience).
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems is strongly preferred.

  • Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and participates in candidate sourcing activities and the recruitment process to fill production-related and salaried/professional positions.
  • Maintains communications with staffing agencies, manages staffing performance and develops candidate sourcing and recruiting strategies through use of company applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, selection/hiring, employee relations, corrective actions, performance reviews, and company policies.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Plans and participates in new employee orientation to foster positive employee relations and high levels of employee engagement.
  • Assists with administering the performance review and salary/wage administration programs to ensure effectiveness, and compliance efforts within the organization.
  • Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to improve employee retention.
  • Assists with representing the organization at employee-related hearings and investigations.
  • Learns company benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance for purposes of employee training and communications.
  • Work with EHS to support critical company safety goals and training programs.
  • Work with the Americas Region HR team in Illinois to support and implement regional HR programs and policies.
