Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. The Mechanical Engineering team leads the design, development and production of mechanical hardware at Raytheon. We use state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and CORE principles. Mechanical Engineering’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test and documentation. The Precision Control Actuation Systems (PCAS) department is part of the Hardware Engineering Organization and comprises approximately 185 engineers located in Tucson, AZ, and Huntsville, AL. Our team specializes in two main core areas: Control Actuation Systems (CAS) and Mechanism Design and Development, as well as Harness and Interconnect (H&I) Design and Development. The PCAS department supports the product lifecycle from concept through production.” What You Will Do You will be responsible for identifying and deriving system requirements, be responsible for the definition of mechanical outline and construction details, connector selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, oversee electrical layout, perform first order electrical analysis, and ownership of final technical data package. You will be responsible for meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for finished product. You will interact with senior personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between cross-functional organizations and physical locations. You will be responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of electronics and interconnect packaging solutions for multiple missile programs. You will be called on to provide expertise in a wide range of tasking, sometimes outside scope of traditional design responsibilities. What You Will Learn You will be growing your understanding of the aerospace industry and ability to apply technical theories in the mechanical, electrical, and/or systems engineering disciplines to develop harness and interconnect solutions. Your contributions are expected to be significant towards the completion of entire projects with limited supervision.
