The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) Campus Operations function is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and exceptional facility operations that support world-class events and guest experiences. Through strong operational oversight, vendor partnerships, and team leadership, Campus Operations ensures the Authority’s facilities operate at the highest standards of quality, safety practices, incident response, and preventive maintenance. The Authority is seeking a Sr. Fountain Maintenance Technician to join our Facility Management team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of water features and their associated mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems throughout Centennial Olympic Park and the main GWCC campus. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in maintaining high operational and aesthetic standards, works effectively in a team environment, and embodies GWCCA’s core values of authenticity, accountability, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting water feature systems and related technology.
  • Understanding of water chemistry, filtration, pumps, valves, and automated controls.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair low-voltage lighting and pump systems.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and reliability.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in fountain, pool, or water feature maintenance preferred.
  • Experience with electrical and plumbing systems required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Diploma, Electronics/Automation Certification, or Associate Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fountains, pumps, filters, and related systems using electrical, plumbing, and mechanical expertise.
  • Operate and maintain water features to ensure safety, functionality, and cleanliness of all fountain areas.
  • Monitor and adjust mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems to ensure proper operation and water quality.
  • Test and record water chemistry daily; adjust and maintain chemical levels as required for safety and compliance.
  • Inspect and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFD), and associated control systems.
  • Manage operation and backwash cycles of sand filter systems to maintain water clarity and system performance.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records using a computerized work order management system.
  • Identify and report needed equipment repairs or replacements to the supervisor.
  • Assist with maintenance and operation of other campus water features as assigned.
  • Support risk management, safety, and emergency response programs in accordance with Authority policies.
  • Participate in department and Authority training programs, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Accurately document and complete administrative paperwork.
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
