Position Summary: The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will provide support services to the Accounting Manager. Ensures the integrity of accounting information by maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. I. Position Responsibilities: Essential Prepares fixed asset related journal entries, including additions, depreciation, and disposals. Provides support to address all fixed asset related audit and tax department queries. Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger to general ledger and maintain fixed asset roll forward schedule. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies. Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, reconciling entries. Manage general ledger and assist month-end/year-end close processes Prepare and analyze the monthly budget to actual variance reports per property and department. Research monthly P&L inquiries for forty plus properties. Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements. Assist with fieldwork for financial and operational audits. Maintain company accounting procedures and processes Assist with special projects as needed. II. Essential Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Minimum 3 years relevant work experience Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Excel Sage FAS software experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to articulate key insights to management and interact effectively with team members in finance, IT, and operations Must be a self-starter who can work independently to identify needs and provide solutions to issues Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills Must have keen attention to detail and maintain account balances, financial statements, general ledger and all reports Strong interpersonal skills Comfortable and able to achieve results in a dynamic, changing environment; ability to meet deadlines Ill. Mental and Physical Demands Work Environment: This position may require long hours and weekend work as job duties demand. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Extensive use of hands and fingers for manipulation of the keyboard, answering phone calls, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, and other office productivity machinery. Ninety percent of time will be spent using a computer terminal, which requires extensive eye contact with a video display terminal. The person in this position frequently communicates with employees/vendors. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The position will be physically located in the Atlanta office; working remotely (outside of Company Directed Guidelines) is not permitted. Currently, the in-office work model is a hybrid with 2 days remote/3 days in the office. Travel Demands: This position requires less than 5% travel; however, from time to time, and depending on the project, travel needs could change.
