About The Position

This position supports global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) users as an application developer to deliver technical OneStream financial system solutions. The Sr. Manager serves as a liaison between end users and Information Technology (IT). This role is a lead on the FP&A OneStream Design & Configuration (ODC) team, which is focused on standardizing Record-to-Report business processes and implementing Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) technology solutions for UPS global financial reporting, planning, consolidations, and analytics. The incumbent is involved in full systems life cycle management (i.e., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, change management, production migration and support) and system enhancements delivered on time and within budget. The incumbent performs current state analysis of existing financial systems and business processes to identify areas for improvement. This position utilizes an agile and waterfall methodology for software development lifecycle. This role strategizes and coordinates key project activities with users/consultants/off-shore support teams to resolve issues within the OneStream application. This position may have direct reports. They serve as the technical support and build resource for functional teams. The ideal candidate is a key advocate, developer and implementer of UPS's data strategy, architecture, and tactics. As a Sr. OneStream manager, the applicant is expected to have at least 5 years experience in a similar F&A Systems role, with experience in several technical and/or functional finance roles. The candidate must have experience interpreting functional finance concepts into automated coded models/processes. They should have a strong background with EPM platforms, data cubes, and technical coding.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
  • 5+ Years experience in VB.Net, C#, SQL or other coding languages
  • 5 – 10 years experience in OneStream, Longview, Hyperion Financial Management or other EPM technologies
  • Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work
  • Demonstrates significant skills with an understanding of data modeling, metadata definition, enterprise data architecture, data technologies, and data strategy
  • Demonstrates, communicates, and applies understanding of technology used by the company
  • Possesses strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Possesses experience managing employees and collaborating with consultants
  • Business analysis experience
  • Possesses experience in project management
  • Experience in enterprise finance and accounting systems
  • Experience with Oracle databases, SQL Server, and API connections
  • Willingness to travel on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in MIS, Finance/Accounting, Computer Science, or related field
  • Lead OneStream Architect Certification – preferred
  • Previous ERP/EPM Implementation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Builds processes and models, per business requirements, within the OneStream application.
  • Has the technical coding ability to understand end user requirements and code them into a working OneStream model in VB.net or C#.
  • Has experience training others on technical aspects of financial systems
  • Manages projects through complete project lifecycle including initiation, feasibility, analysis, execution, and closeout phases
  • Provides subject-matter expertise and support for applications development, integration, and maintenance
  • Assesses project enhancements or support requests to ensure alignment with business needs, objectives, and practices
  • Develops plans that balance details with the big picture; adapts the level of detail required for a given audience
  • Develops and delivers presentations to gain feedback, support, and approval.
  • Oversees the development and operations of data cubes, combining data from disparate data sources systems
  • Enforces SDLC principles and environment migration integrity
  • Evaluates, improves, and streamlines processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, visibility, and value
  • Schedules and facilities project meetings to discuss project details in line with agile/scrum methodology and follows up on project issues and action items to ensure completion of project tasks
  • Creates and reviews OneStream artifacts and business processes to accelerate future state solutions
  • Coordinates testing activities, enhancement requests, liaises with users to resolve issues, and escalates issues as warranted
  • Assesses user training needs and provides input on change management and training activities
  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g. training, certifications, conferences, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development
