About The Position

Responsibilities entail the preparation of financial statements, assisting with the annual budget, Modeling of CECL reserves, and Asset Liability Management to include ALCO analytics & reporting. Maintain data in accounting and finance modeling software. Perform various “What-If” analysis for senior/executive management. Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all internal members (co-workers) at all times.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Asset/Liability Management, CECL and/or BASEL Analysis, Financial Forecasting, Branch Profitability, Product Profitability, Customer Profitability, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Minimum of 5 years of finance/forecasting experience with a finance or accounting degree or 8 years of finance/forecasting experience at a bank or credit union without a degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance/Economics, or
  • Eight (8) years of finance/forecasting experience at a bank/credit union without a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Jack Henry software (ProfitStar) is preferred.
  • Experience from a Bank or Credit Union with financial analysis
  • Credit union/bank experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financials, ratios, and slides for the board packet.
  • Upload and maintain monthly financial data in financial/budget software (ProfitStar).
  • Models and/or forecast the credit union's overall financial performance. Analyzes the forecasted results and makes recommendations to the senior/executive team regarding the credit union's ALM.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Maintain budget data in budget forecasting software.
  • Work with Controller to research monthly budget variances and provide variance explanations for the balance sheet and income statement.
  • Perform various “What-If” scenarios within forecasting software.
  • Analyzes the credit union's branch profitability, product profitability, and member profitability results.
  • Prepare quarterly profitability reports to department managers and senior/executive team.
  • Produce reports for Asset/Liability Management Committee (ALCO) meetings and Pricing Committee meetings.
  • Serve as an advisory member to the ALCO and Pricing Committee.
  • Provide data extract files to third-party ALM providers for quarterly reporting.
  • Works effectively with senior/executive management to develop methods to improve department efficiencies that will ensure financial goals are met
  • Provide audit and exam support as assigned.
  • Stays abreast of industry and business issues and understands and applies this knowledge in current activities.
  • Ensure the financial safety, soundness, and security of the credit union and its membership.
  • Comply with BSA regulations when performing all job requirements and stay abreast of updates/requirements of BSA/OFAC/CIP through completion of training courses assigned annually by the supervisor and attendance at quarterly all-employee meetings discussing BSA compliance activities.
