The Senior Financial Analyst, NBC News will hold operational finance responsibilities, primarily focusing on production cost management. Key aspects of this role include pacing and monthly close processes, management reporting, and providing operational support to various production teams. This position reports to the Sr. Director Finance, NBC News.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
- Excellent computer and analytical skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient use of SAP/Analysis for Office/BPC or similar accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, analysis and reporting of operational expenses, including compensation and benefits, and variable production costs, for monthly pacing quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic initiatives
- Assist with monthly close process by preparing journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
- Lead regular cost tracking for production teams including maintenance of standard reporting packages, dashboards and other ad-hoc analysis
- Support management reporting across income, cash flow and balance sheet statements
- Manage headcount reporting in partnership with Human Resources
- Help to identify risks and opportunities
- Partner with operators to support day to day business needs, and serve as the primary finance contact for any corporate card and accounts payable requirements
- Communicate results and metrics in a timely manner
