The Senior Financial Analyst, NBC News will have operational finance responsibilities, focusing primarily on production cost management. Key responsibilities include pacing & monthly close, management reporting, and operational support for various production teams. This role reports into the Sr. Director Finance, NBC News.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient use of SAP/Analysis for Office/BPC or similar accounting software.
  • Hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, analysis and reporting of operational expenses, including compensation and benefits, and variable production costs, for monthly pacing quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic initiatives
  • Assist with monthly close process by preparing journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
  • Lead regular cost tracking for production teams including maintenance of standard reporting packages, dashboards and other ad-hoc analysis
  • Support management reporting across income, cash flow and balance sheet statements
  • Manage headcount reporting in partnership with Human Resources
  • Help to identify risks and opportunities
  • Partner with operators to support day to day business needs, and serve as the primary finance contact for any corporate card and accounts payable requirements
  • Communicate results and metrics in a timely manner
