About The Position

Nordstrom is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Supply Chain Finance team, supporting the Transportation organization. This role is ideal for a strategic, analytically driven finance professional who brings strong business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive ownership mindset. In this role, you will serve as a trusted thought partner to Supply Chain leaders, delivering forward-looking insights, rigorous financial modeling, and data-driven recommendations that influence investment decisions, operational strategy, and long-range planning. You will play a critical role across the full FP&A lifecycle, with a focus on continuous planning, performance management, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and financial outcomes. This role is Hybrid in downtown Seattle, Washington and will require you to be in office 4 days per week. A day in the life… Lead end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes, including reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis for Transportation and related Supply Chain functions. Develop and deliver insightful performance narratives that connect financial results to operational drivers, risks, and future trends. Own and continuously enhance strategic planning and rolling forecast models, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term objectives. Partner closely with Transportation, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership to build annual budgets, evaluate trade-offs, and support resource allocation decisions. Act as a primary finance advisor to non-financial leaders, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Build and maintain advanced financial models leveraging multiple data sources to assess cost drivers, productivity, service levels, and ROI on key initiatives. Support the identification, sizing, prioritization, and measurement of efficiency and optimization initiatives, including transportation cost reduction, network improvements, and automation opportunities. Champion process improvement and automation, streamlining reporting and planning workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability. Proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities, providing scenario analysis and decision support in a dynamic operating environment. Lead and contribute to ad hoc analyses, business cases, and special projects tied to strategic investments and enterprise priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, or Analytics, with exposure to Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Transportation strongly preferred.
  • A BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
  • Proven ability to deliver high-impact financial analysis and modeling, with a strong focus on business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing decisions through data, insight, and clear communication.
  • Strong technical and analytical skillset, including advanced Excel and experience with modern FP&A, BI, and data tools such as Anaplan, Hyperion/Essbase, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Cognos, SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Experience improving or automating financial processes, dashboards, or planning models in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and operate with a high degree of independence.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • High attention to detail, commitment to data integrity, and comfort operating in a collaborative, evolving environment.
