Position Summary: Illumina is seeking a driven and dynamic candidate to join a successful and expanding Finance organization. This role will suit a positive and hands-on candidate, who will have direct exposure in understanding the Illumina USCAN business, including its challenges and strategies. This position will also offer an opportunity to influence decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will provide quality financial and commercial input to individual investment decisions, understand/challenge key revenue forecasting assumptions, and deliver financial analysis of performance, forecasts, key risks and sensitivities. This candidate will be viewed by USCAN regional leaders as a financial process and data/systems expert and able to deliver revenue analytics support to the USCAN business with consistency and efficiency. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, with an expectation of 2-3 in-office days per week and additional on-site presence as needed. The individual must reside in the San Diego, CA area and be able to commute to our corporate offices.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • BS or BA in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Strong business partnering, financial acumen, and communication skills
  • Experience in a diverse, global environment
  • Understand effective internal control environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial modelling and analysis, budgeting and forecasting
  • Superb verbal and written communication and project management skills
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Knowledge of Tableau, Cognos, TM1, SalesForce.com are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the USCAN Commercial Revenue Associate Director as it relates to budgeting, monthly forecasting, weekly revenue projections, reporting and analysis
  • Assist with weekly, monthly & quarterly financial presentations for the USCAN Commercial team and CCO
  • Act as the finance partner to the Strategic Growth Sales Lead, developing a deep understanding of the business and owning forecasting to support decision-making
  • Partner with cross-functional business units as a key liaison to align on regional monthly forecasting while proactively identifying risks and upside opportunities
  • Create process standardization and documentation for Revenue processes
  • Create and manage routine analytics for projects and forecast cycles
  • Develop analytics to derive market, customer segment, and specific customer insights on pricing/discounting, platform transitions, and market/customer type trends
  • Provide support on other ad hoc projects as needed
