About The Position

The Sr Factory Test Specialist will design, build, and operate pressurized cryogenic/pneumatic/hydraulic systems for rocket testing. This role involves developing and managing advanced data control systems for real-time monitoring and analysis. The specialist will provide expert guidance to engineers on testing best practices, system capabilities, and operational limitations. Key responsibilities also include conducting first-level triage of test failures by analyzing telemetry and logs to determine root causes, and proactively identifying and mitigating hazards to ensure a safe and efficient testing environment. Additionally, the specialist will develop test plans, conops, and high-level P&IDs for production or development testing that other teams will execute.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience, including (but not limited to):
  • Experience working with pressurized flight components
  • Operating hazardous equipment with multiple sources of energy
  • Building Complex Fluid-Mechanical Systems
  • Console operation of large scale test stands with multiple sources of energy
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with test automation, data acquisition, and control systems
  • Proficiency with Basic Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Slack)
  • At minimum: High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or Trade Certifications in pertinent disciplines: e.g., Aviation/Automotive Mechanic
  • Knowledge of rocket engine components such as pumps, valves, regulators, check valves, as well as electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic valves, actuators, and other fluid system components
  • Expertise in Python-based test scripts
