About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Sr. Fabricator will assist the Fabrication Lead and the Production Supervisor with directing others in the machining, fabrication, production, and assembly of structural fabrication components. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Fabricates structural components to required specifications. Assists Fabrication Lead and Production Supervisor in the planning and execution of a wide variety of fabrication. Ensures completion of all structure and components in accordance with the production schedule. Fosters a spirit of teamwork within the department. Ensures timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement. Responsible for safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring work crews follow safe practices and HSE programs, including Lock-out Tag-out. In conjunction with the Production Supervisor and EHS Manager, assists in training employees on changes in safety regulations, work policies, and standards. Completes tasks as directed with minimum supervision. Assists in enforcing standards and complying with regulations. Assist Lead with managing production performance. Assist Lead with monitoring work quality. Any other duties as assigned by TAS.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple work orders.
  • Able to make decisions.
  • Commitment to the concept of continual improvement and effective quality management systems.
  • The employee exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Understanding of the production process from completion to end.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow product specification instructions.
  • Understanding the production and Work Order process.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office tools).
  • Assist and inspect final fabrication by drawings requirements
  • Able to perform well inspection performance
  • High School Diploma
  • Two years of structural fabrication experience
  • Work performed in a shop environment
  • Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable
  • Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness
  • Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
  • The use of Safety Glasses is required
  • The use of earplugs is recommended
  • Ability to stand up to 12 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 7 days a week
  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
  • Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
