ROLE SUMMARY: The Senior Event Manager is responsible for planning and executing high-end weddings, large social galas, and VIP events with complex logistics, ensuring an exceptional guest and client experience. This role leads high-touch client planning, collaborates with vendors and internal teams, and provides mentorship and operational support within the Events department. The position also serves as an escalation point for client concerns, supports revenue enhancement opportunities, and helps maintain operational consistency in partnership with the Director of Catering.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of event planning experience with demonstrated ability to manage large-scale or complex events.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage high-profile clientele.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and event planning documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments to ensure successful event execution.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in luxury hospitality, full-service hotels, or high-end event venues
  • Experience managing weddings, galas, and large social events
  • Experience with event diagramming software

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Catering in detailing and executing corporate, social, and VIP events
  • Manage high-end weddings, large social galas, and VIP events as assigned
  • Oversee events with complex logistics, large guest counts, or extensive vendor involvement
  • Lead planning with wedding planners, production companies, and VIP clients
  • Conduct planning meetings, final details meetings, and event walkthroughs with clients and operational teams
  • Strategically detail events to ensure smooth operations, food integrity, and timely execution
  • Serve as an onsite point of contact alongside the banquet team during event execution
  • Identify and drive revenue enhancement opportunities such as upgrades, premium bar packages, and specialty setups
  • Maintain strong relationships with preferred vendors, planners, and external partners
  • Serve as an escalation point for client concerns and resolve issues proactively
  • Assist with service recovery and ensure client satisfaction when challenges arise
  • Mentor and support Event Coordinator
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for accuracy and operational readiness
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day workflow of the Catering and Events department
  • Support leadership with operational improvements and process consistency
