About The Position

At FD Thomas, we're looking for a Senior Estimator with deep experience in industrial painting and coating, especially on infrastructure projects such as bridges, penstocks, and wastewater treatment facilities. Based in Sacramento, you'll be part of a dynamic team working on some of the most challenging and rewarding projects in the region. F.D. Thomas, Inc. As a Senior Estimator, you'll lead the charge in preparing and coordinating full estimates for large-scale industrial painting projects. You'll collaborate with our VP of Estimating and project teams to ensure precision, efficiency, and excellence in every bid. Requirements

10+ years of experience in construction and estimating, with a focus on industrial painting.
Proven track record estimating projects involving bridges, penstocks, and wastewater facilities.
Strong knowledge of Constructware, Viewpoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Estimate industrial painting projects involving bridges, penstocks, and wastewater facilities.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and scopes to develop detailed cost estimates.
Prepare conceptual budgets and quantity take-offs using established production rates.
Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and complete scope coverage.
Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and planning sessions.
Support project managers with buyouts, purchasing, and change orders.
Maintain thorough documentation and ensure quality assurance throughout the estimating process.
