About The Position

As a Senior Epic Business Intelligence Developer, you’ll play a lead role in turning Epic data into clear, trusted analytics that help teams make better decisions. You’ll partner closely with our Data & Analytics Leader and Epic application stakeholders to translate business needs into high-performing reporting and visualization solutions, with a strong focus on accuracy, usability, and ongoing improvement. You’ll bring hands-on experience working with the Tapestry and Revenue Cycle Data Models, confidently extracting and shaping data from Clarity, and leading Crystal Report conversions, including rebuilding logic using CogitoSQL and migrating outputs into Reporting Workbench. Experience supporting HICE regulatory reporting and/or provider productivity reporting is a major plus. This is a part-time contract (10–20 hours/week for ~3 months) with flexible scheduling and the possibility of extension. Because the hours are flexible, we’re looking for someone who excels at proactive communication, reliable follow-through, and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Epic analytics tools.
  • Current Epic certification in Cogito Fundamentals, Clarity Data Model, and Caboodle Data Model.
  • Strong Epic BI background with hands-on work in Tapestry and Revenue Cycle Data Models
  • Proven experience extracting data from Clarity (advanced SQL and relational database skills required)
  • Crystal Reports conversion experience
  • Deep familiarity with Epic applications and database structure.
  • Ability to independently manage deliverables while staying closely aligned with leadership and stakeholders
  • Comfortable working both independently and in teams, with wide latitude for independent judgement.
  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting and effectively tracking and resolving issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HICE regulatory reporting and/or provider productivity reporting
  • Current Epic certification in Clinical Data Model, Revenue Data Model, Access Data Model, or equivalent legacy data model certification.
  • Completion of Radar SQL Metrics, SlicerDicer Custom Build, and Cogito SQL badges.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, ideally Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of Epic analytics content, including reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal users and third parties.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize content leveraging Epic data sources including Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle.
  • Develop and support Epic analytics tooling such as Extracts, Radar SQL metrics, SlicerDicer custom filters, and Caboodle content.
  • Validate results through testing, troubleshooting, and data audits, ensuring analytics are accurate, performant, and accessible.
  • Maintain strong documentation and adhere to change control processes to protect system integrity and compliance.
  • Mentor teammates and contribute to collaborative planning, design reviews, and solutioning across applications.
