What You Will Learn This role will merge technical, manufacturing, and business knowledge to drive new innovations across Raytheon. The role has a foundation in controls engineering and will allow for knowledge growth on advanced robotic equipment that is transforming the way that Raytheon assembles product. Learning the intricacies of every custom cell and overcoming the inevitable equipment challenges, including mechanical, electrical, and programming, will be paramount to your success. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative team of automation systems engineers onsite in Andover, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires BS in an Engineering field or the sciences (STEM) AND minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or 3+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
  • Rockwell PLC and HMI experience
  • Fanuc Robotics experience
  • Machine vision experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to create electrical schematics
  • Keyence, Cognex, or iRVision experience
  • Advanced PLC programming knowledge, including structured text

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting support and recovery of faults on 20+ pieces of custom robotics around the factory
  • Implement improvements to production automation systems, primarily programming Robotics, PLCs, and Vision Systems
  • Document issues and resolutions in Azure DevOps to properly convey impact to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Update documentation for changes made to deployed systems
  • Liaise with manufacturing engineering and operators to understand and resolve issues
