About The Position

Peraton is hiring an Engineer Technician, this role will be part time/on call role based in San Diego, CA. What you'll do: Serve as a direct assistant to the Reconnaissance and Interdiction (RAID) Head and Deputy of Operations, providing comprehensive support in the overall management and strategic direction of the Division. Prepare and coordinate responses to Command-level data calls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with organizational priorities. Conduct information gathering, research, and in-depth analysis to support decision-making and operational planning. Contribute to the development and execution of Division-level strategies, providing consultation and recommendations on key initiatives. Assist in identifying, developing, and managing (including logistics and resourcing) potential new programs and business opportunities within the RAID mission space. Provide direct support to the Deputy for Operations in the planning, coordination, and execution of programs, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and operational requirements. Track progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions for ongoing programs and initiatives. Prepare briefings, reports, and correspondence for senior leadership as required.

Requirements

  • Education: BS/BA degree
  • 15 years experience in program management, operations, or technical directorates within the Department of Defense, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership or deputy-level role.
  • Demonstrated experience as a second-level supervisor managing multi-disciplinary teams of 100+ personnel (civilian, military, and/or contractor).
  • Proven track record managing budgets of $40M+ annually, including budget development, execution, stewardship, and justification to senior stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience supporting Fleet, Warfighter, or operational commands through direct customer engagement, requirements analysis, and delivery of mission-critical capabilities.
  • Strong background in strategic planning, business development, capture management, and identification/growth of new program opportunities.
  • Experience preparing and coordinating responses to Command-level data calls, taskers, and information requirements.
  • Clearance: active Secret clearance required

Nice To Haves

  • Current or recent experience (within last 10 years) at a Navy Warfare Center, Systems Command, or equivalent DoD Program Executive Office / Command supporting reconnaissance, interdiction, intelligence, or information warfare missions.
  • Direct experience supervising scientific, engineering, and technical personnel delivering warfighter solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in labor-union relations, contractor oversight, and partnership-building across government and industry.
  • Expertise in operations research, manpower modeling, Lean Six Sigma, or continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience developing and institutionalizing risk-based inspection programs, quality assurance frameworks, or lean manufacturing/technical processes that yielded measurable reductions in cost or turnaround time.
