The Senior Engineering Technician is responsible for product development / performance testing, resolution of product issues, as well as driving the technical development and improvement of our test systems. In this position you will lead Lab projects and initiatives, as well as mentor others.

Requirements

  • A good understanding of data acquisition systems, hardware / software, LabView, Dewesoft.
  • Innovative thinker comfortable to make decisions and take risks.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred, or 5 or more years’ experience working in product test and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diverse and complex mechanical tests using a variety of electrical and mechanical test equipment techniques.
  • Provides detailed reports / incident reports and daily test logs.
  • May lead Lab activities and mentor other Technicians.
  • Set up, and troubleshoot data acquisition equipment, with the ability to interpret data.
  • Primary advisor (subject matter expert) when questions or concerns arise involving testing, product, test processes and results.
  • Provides feedback on workload / test status to Lab Supervisor / Test Engineers to set work priority.
  • Strong speaking and writing skills to effectively convey information, express opinions, and motivate others to act.
  • Make product improvement recommendations based on test results, observations, comparisons to other product, and competitive product knowledge.
  • Drives the continuous improvement of lab equipment, test systems, processes, and methods to improve efficiency.
  • Utilizes necessary fabrication tools to make modifications to components or generators.
  • Demonstrates initiative for independent, self-directed work focused on company and customer goals / objectives / satisfaction.
  • Assist with change management, training, and calibration activities for department.
  • Strong trouble shooting skillset with the ability to consider multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain good working customer relationships resulting in excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent soft skills, with proven ability to develop and grow relationships to positively influence the role.
