About The Position

SitelogIQ serves state and local governments, K-12 schools, and higher education institutions, executing energy savings projects across energy management control systems, building and street lighting, water efficiency, HVAC, and renewable power. Our Senior Engineering Associate will work out of our South Business Unit , located in Texas near either the Dallas/Ft Worth, San Antonio, Beaumont, or McAllen areas. They will support and independently execute the engineering development of select energy efficiency and building renovation projects. This role is the next level above Engineering Associate and is intended for engineers who have demonstrated strong technical fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to independently develop and deliver defined, lower-complexity projects with limited supervision as well as assist more senior engineers with more complex projects. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Engineering, the Senior Engineering Associate will take increased ownership of project development activities while continuing to collaborate with senior engineers on more complex assignments. Projects support public-sector clients across the Southeast United States and include HVAC upgrades, building retrofits, deferred maintenance projects, and lighting and controls solutions for existing buildings. This role will include at least 50% travel to project sites across TX, but no weekend stays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in building systems, construction, energy services or facility retrofit work
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop and execute defined scope engineering projects
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems commonly found in existing facilities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • High ethical standards and strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering License (or active pursuit of licensure)
  • Experience with energy audits, energy modeling, building commissioning, or renewable energy systems
  • Experience working with public-sector or institutional clients

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop and engineer smaller, less complex projects from initial assessment through proposal and construction support within existing, occupied facilities
  • Lead site visits for assigned projects to document existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, building systems and overall facility condition
  • Perform ASHRAE Level I and II energy audits and support Level III audits under senior engineer oversight
  • Analyze utility and energy performance data and develop baseline profiles
  • Identify energy conservation and efficiency opportunities and prepare savings calculations
  • Prepare conceptual engineering designs, cost estimates, and technical scopes of work
  • Develop drawings, specifications, and bid documents for assigned projects
  • Contribute substantively to proposal development, technical narratives, and customer presentations
  • Coordinate with operations, subcontractors, and external consultants for assigned projects
  • Support construction, commissioning, and closeout activities, resolving routine technical issues
  • Track project schedules and budgets for assigned work and provide status updates
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, codes, and company procedures
  • Mentor and support Engineering Associates as appropriate
