This role is essential for designing, implementing, deploying, and operating scalable software and platform services that meet customer requirements and support high availability environments. The role involves collaborating across engineering and infrastructure teams to build cloud-native, resilient systems that power customer- and frontline-facing applications. It requires independent judgment to resolve technical issues and make recommendations for software design and implementation. Success is measured by the ability to deliver scalable, reliable software and platform capabilities that improve system performance, support resilient operations, and enable high-impact business outcomes. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience (Required)
• Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management, Information Systems, or equivalent experience in field (Required)
• 4-7 years Technical engineering experience. (Required)
• 5-8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering, preferably in cloud and distributed systems environments. (Preferred)
• Hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems in cloud environments. (Preferred)
• Experience supporting production systems at scale, including incident response and operational support. (Preferred)
• Communication (Required)
• Cross-functional teamwork and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences (Required)
• Analytics (Required)
• Technical Writing (Required)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration concepts, including Kubernetes and Docker (Required)
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building scalable backend services (Required)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar, and infrastructure-as-code practices such as Terraform (Required)
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems (Required)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and modern observability and monitoring practices (Required)
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis in complex distributed systems (Required)
• Understanding of system reliability principles, including resiliency patterns, SLIs/SLOs, and incident management (Required)
• At least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

• 5-8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering, preferably in cloud and distributed systems environments. (Preferred)
• Hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems in cloud environments. (Preferred)
• Experience supporting production systems at scale, including incident response and operational support. (Preferred)
• Experience with JavaScript-based technologies such as Node.js and modern frontend frameworks such as Svelte (Preferred)
• Experience with TKE or similar Kubernetes platforms (Preferred)
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery speed (Preferred)
• Understanding of secure and responsible use of AI-assisted software development tools, including safe code generation, validation practices, and data handling considerations (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develop software solutions and conduct tests to drive engineering projects and ensure quality deliverables
• Contribute to design innovations that improve systems, processes, or services using new frameworks and industry guidelines
• Collaborate with technical teams to deliver solutions and mentor others through knowledge sharing and training sessions
• Support technology strategy by evaluating and applying current technologies that align with business goals
• Create clear documentation for software code, system designs, and business requirements to support knowledge sharing
• Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
